Covered in Blue: Police Culture and LGBT Police Officers in the Province of Ontario

This study examines the beliefs, values, and assumptions of police culture, traditionally dominated by white, heterosexual males. Through interviews with LGBT officers in Ontario, it finds that while workplace experiences have improved over time, police culture still retains hypermasculine and heteronormative characteristics.
