Born to be Blue: The Construction of Canadian Police Officers’ Identity
Joe’s doctoral work resulted in a White Paper published by the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police and made available to police leaders across Canada. It discusses research examining how police identity is constructed and reinforced within police culture, shaping what it means to be an officer. It also explores opportunities to shift cultural values and norms toward greater equity, diversity, and inclusion.
